7 Reasons to Change

There are no better reasons to change your hairstyle than after a break up, ending a chapter in your life or simply wanting to liven things up. All of us can be sucked into the routine of the same look, but there’s no reason to stick with the same old hairstyle you’ve had forever. So, take the first step towards the new you with these reasons to change your hairstyle.

1. You’ve Looked Like This Since High School

One of the biggest reasons to change your hairstyle is that change is good! If you’ve been rockin’ the same look you’ve had since high school it’s definitely time to change that up. We can get comfortable in routine but that’s no excuse not to go off the beaten path and try new things! Find a celebrity with the same face shape as yours (heart, oval, square) and see what hairstyles they’ve had. Chances are, one of them could be the new you.

2. You’ve Never Cut Your Hair

Cutting your hair can be scary, really scary. But, if you’ve never cut yours before, it might be time to take that leap of faith and schedule a hair appointment to chop off those locks. There is something very therapeutic in cutting your hair off—even if it’s only a good trim—that can really revive your sense of self. Not only will your hair look fresher, but also it’ll grow faster and style better.

3. You’ve Always Wondered If You Could Rock Another Hair Colour

If you’ve always been a brunette, it’s time to throw some highlights in for spring and see what a difference a dye job can make. For blonds, try going strawberry blond or even red. There are subtle ways to change your hair color without making a drastic change. But, if you’re ready for platinum or violet hair then by all means, make it happen!

4.  You’ve Never Tried Hair Extensions

Extensions may be one of the best inventions ever to grace the hair world. You can go from having medium length hair to mermaid hair in two seconds. Using clip in extensions is an easy way to go back and forth between longer hair for night and shorter hair for day. For more serious extension wearers, sewing or gluing in extensions will last around a few months and stay in permanently without the fuss of clips.

5. You’ve Just Come Out of a Big Breakup

Sometimes literally cutting and/or coloring your hair after a big break up can be just what you need to get you moving into the next phase of your life. Create a day of beauty for yourself and schedule a trip to the salon. Or, call a friend to do a makeover on you at home. Feeling pampered will give you the support you need right now and seeing a whole new you in the mirror will definitely give you the confidence you need to move on.

6.  You’ve Just Gotten Married

After having the same hairstyle for the duration of dating your now husband, it can feel right to chop your hair off right after the wedding. Chop off your past and change your hairstyle to lead into your new future with your hubby. Maybe even get him to join you in changing his too!

7.  Your Hair Is Fried!

This is a great reason to change your hair. When your hair is completely fried from summer in the sun or simply from coloring it to look like permanent summer, the best thing to do is to give it a rest and dye it darker. It’ll save you some money not having to do your roots every month and give you a new look to play around with while your hair heals.
